2006
2006
fishing season :
Excellence continues

2006 well reflects Le Domaine Oregnac’s
fishing potential.
A grand total of 4563 brook trout were caught
with an average weight of about half a pound,
from 29 lakes including Sault-Aux-Cochons river.
June, july and september were particularly good
while august was somewhat slow this year. |

Jean Pinard from Trois-Rivières visited us
four
times in 2006, and here’s his 2.8 pounds trout
caught on Labor Day in September. |
By the way...

Fishing in September is becoming
Le Domaine Oregnac’s best kept secret.
Our favourite lake in 2006 was the Mimo which gave
a total
of 558 native trout, with an average weight of 6.5
oz. |

Each winner gets a free day
for his group in 2007.
Mr. Marcel Derommé from Verdun won the june
contest with a 4.6 pounds trout.

Small
game hunting :
FROM BEST TO BETTER
For a fourth year in a row, more than 200 partridge
were brought back at Le Domaine Orégnac.
In fact, a new record of 250 ruffed grouse
and 42 savannas grouse were brought back, for a
total of 292 partridge, 44 more than 248 in 2005.

|
Big
game hunting :
A wonderful season
Four moose were shot, one 48 inches antler buck,
another one with a 42 inches antler, and two small
males. So, 2006 was a great year for the hunters
and almost for the outfitter.
|
|
Chasse
à l'ours :
17 bears have been killed (8 on the first
hunting day) for a 90% of success rate.
That allows me to say that 2006 was
one of the best bear hunting season.

Bear
hunting :
-Solar energy
-Improvements
|
In 2007, all 3 cabins at Mimo lake will be
equipped with solar energy for increased
comfort and better lighting.
Finally, we’ll see much better
what we’re eating for dinner !

Plongeurs
lake's cabin

We received a lot of very nice comments
from the folks who tried this brand new cabin.
For its first year, this cabin has reached
85% of occupancy rate. The most important
is the happy and satisfied folks who enjoyed it.
Those people have tasted the great calm and comfort
that we find in there. |
